1. What types of equipment do you calibrate?

We specialize in calibrating a wide range of laboratory and medical equipment including pipettes, analytical balances, thermometers, centrifuges, refrigerators, pH meters, pressure gauges, cryogenic tanks, incubators, and more. A full list is available on our website or by request.

2. Are your calibration services accredited?

Yes. All our calibrations comply with ISO/IEC 17025:2017 standards and traceable to NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology), ensuring industry-compliant accuracy and documentation.

3. Can you calibrate onsite at our facility?

Absolutely. We offer flexible onsite calibration services, including after-hours and weekend appointments, to minimize disruption to your lab operations. Mail-In options also available.

4. Do you offer "As Found" and "As Left" data?

Yes. Our standard reports include full "As Left" data, with "As Found" data available upon request. We also provide out-of-tolerance alerts and detailed failure descriptions when applicable.

5. How often should we calibrate our equipment?

Calibration intervals depend on equipment type, usage frequency, and regulatory requirements. We offer calibration interval consultations and can create a recurring schedule tailored to your lab’s compliance needs.

6. Do you support labs applying for CLIA or CAP accreditation?

Yes. Beyond calibration, we provide management consulting including CLIA applications, CAP accreditation support, lab design, instrument installation, and SOP development.

7. What documentation will we receive?

You’ll receive a comprehensive calibration certificate with:

ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accreditation seal

NIST traceability

“As Found” / “As Left” data

 Out-of-tolerance flags (if any)

8. Do you serve outside of Los Angeles?

Yes! With out laboratory located in Los Angeles, we travel nation wide to accommodate your facilities needs.

9. What industries do you serve?

We work with clinical laboratories, hospitals, biotech firms, pharmaceutical manufacturers, academic research labs, and food/environmental testing facilities, and more. We will service anywhere precision matters.

10. Are you a diverse supplier?

Yes! We are proudly LGBTBE-certified—the only calibration lab in the U.S. with both ISO 17025 accreditation and LGBT Business Enterprise certification. We participate in supplier diversity programs and welcome partnership inquiries.

11. How can we schedule service?

You can request a quote or book a calibration appointment through our Contact Page, or email us directly at info@jointmatters.com . We typically respond within 1 business day.

16. What happens if my equipment fails calibration?

If equipment is found out of tolerance, we notify you immediately. You'll receive a detailed failure report, and our team will discuss corrective actions, repairs, or replacements based on your needs.

17. What does NIST traceable calibration mean?

NIST traceability means that all measurements can be linked back to national standards maintained by the National Institute of Standards and Technology. It’s critical for audit readiness and quality control.

18. What’s the difference between calibration and preventative maintenance?

Calibration confirms that your equipment measures accurately. Preventative maintenance involves cleaning, inspection, and minor repairs to prevent future issues. We offer both as part of bundled services.

19. How do I prepare for a calibration visit?

Ensure all equipment is powered on, and accessible, and available for the lab technicians to perform services. Provide a controlled space for our lab technicians to complete calibration.

12. Can you help us prepare for inspections or audits?

Definitely. Our lab consultants can assist with inspection prep, documentation audits, gap assessments, and pre-inspection simulations tailored to CLIA, CAP, or internal quality protocols.

13. What is ISO 17025 calibration and why is it important?

ISO/IEC 17025 is the international standard for testing and calibration laboratories. Using an ISO 17025-accredited lab ensures your results are reliable, traceable, and meet regulatory or audit requirements.

14. How do I know if my lab equipment needs calibration?

If you're experiencing inconsistent results, failed QC tests, or approaching a scheduled audit, your equipment likely needs calibration. Common signs include drift in measurements, error messages, or performance anomalies.

15. How often should pipettes be calibrated?

Most labs calibrate pipettes every 3 to 6 months, depending on usage frequency, regulatory demands, and manufacturer guidelines. High-throughput labs may need monthly or quarterly calibration.
